The Fiery Food Challenge is the most recognize, most prestigious competition of zesty products in the industry. In more than 80 categories from salsa to apparel, entrants vie for the coveted first place Golden Chili Award. To find the best in zest, culinary expert judges sample every product through a series of blind tastings and the winners are announced at the awards ceremony during the week of ZestFest.

The Scovie Awards were created by Dave DeWitt, editor of the Fiery-Foods & BBQ Magazine and founder of the National Fiery Foods & BBQ Show. The awards were named for Wilbur Scoville who pioneered a rating scale for spicy foods and have become the industry’s standard for excellence in more than 60 categories of fiery foods and has more than 700 competitors every year.
